My Approach to Therapy

Therapy with me is relational, present-focused, and collaborative. We pay attention to both what you’re thinking about and what you’re experiencing emotionally and physically in the moment. Rather than following a rigid formula, I adapt how I work based on what each client needs.

Therapy here isn’t about lying on a couch talking about your childhood until something magically clicks. It’s a real conversation — direct, curious, and focused on what’s actually getting in your way.

We look at patterns together and name them clearly. You bring the self-awareness. I bring the psychological framework. Together we figure out why knowing something about yourself isn’t always enough to change it — and what actually helps shift those patterns.

Our work might involve exploring relationship dynamics, understanding emotional reactions, or noticing how stress and anxiety show up in your day-to-day life. Sometimes that means talking things through and gaining perspective. Other times it means slowing down and paying attention to what’s happening internally so new responses can develop.

My approach draws from attachment theory, experiential therapy, and nervous-system-informed work. In simple terms, that means we focus on understanding both the story of your experiences and how your mind and body respond to them.

Therapy is collaborative and paced in a way that feels manageable and safe. My goal is to help you understand yourself more clearly and develop tools that support real, lasting change.

Therapy Services

Most clients start with weekly sessions, and we adjust from there depending on how things are going and what you’re working toward. Meeting weekly helps create consistency in your brain and body and often helps the work move along faster. That said, there is no mandatory meeting frequency.

  • These sessions are primarily conversation-based and focused on helping you better understand what you’re thinking, feeling, and experiencing in your daily life. We may explore patterns in relationships, reactions to stress, and the situations that feel hardest right now.

Sometimes our work looks like talking things through and making sense of experiences. Other times, it may involve slowing down to notice what’s happening emotionally or physically so you can respond in new ways. I tailor sessions to what feels most helpful in the moment, rather than following a rigid formula.
